We set out to bring Google to life at the B.E.Y.A. Conference (Black Engineer of the Year Awards) in a way that promoted conversations & connections between BEYA conference attendees and Googlers. Our space was accessible, and welcoming, piquing curiosity among attendees.

We positioned a large Super G at the booth entrance, serving as the ultimate photo op for guests.

The dimensional logo was a sought-after spot for solo pics, group shots, and memorable snaps with colleagues. Vibrant plants and the custom faux concrete seating enhanced the scene. We integrated plant flags within the greenery to encourage social sharing with custom hashtags.

Lights, camera, action! Our Real Tone headshot booth was a hit amongst BEYA attendees. Conference-goers were invited to get their headshot taken against a white brick backdrop by a professional photographer via a Pixel 8 to show off the excellence of the camera in capturing all skin tones.

We aimed to create a memorable, unified design story that was highly photographable and allowed emerging talent to establish meaningful connections with the brand and Googlers alike.

We created a gallery wall highlighting 23 Google honorees receiving the Black Engineer of the Year Awards. Each was featured on individually designed posters including their headshot, title, and department area. The gallery reminded attendees that they can find future success in the STEM fields.

We designed an engaging community wall highlighting the diversity and inclusion of groups at Google. This space allowed conference attendees to see Google as a place that aligns with their interests and a company that cares about advancing people of color.

We integrated prominent YouTube branding into our booth, highlighting its significance to both the Google brand and the global community. Utilizing dynamic perforated panels, cool neon lighting, and brand shape language, we crafted an eye-catching photo opportunity for all BEYA guests.

We invited guests to get hands-on with an interactive flip board to learn about Google Cloud. Each wooden Flipboard highlighted a different industry that uses Cloud. We centered dimensional Data Center inspired graphics and faux wire detailing, to create a simulated version of a data center, with “snackable” information for attendees to understand.

Networking and connection are a priority for Google. To facilitate follow-up we strategically incorporated QR codes, leading to a questionnaire. We expanded this data collection by offering attendees an opportunity to enter to win a Pixel device.

THE LINK UP

We hosted a relaxed networking event named "The Link Up", offering a laid-back setting for attendees to mingle. With a DJ, photo opportunities, and cozy lounge furniture, we created a vibrant space that encouraged natural interactions, complemented by light bites and drinks to keep guests happy and engaged in meaningful networking.

Guests were not shy to strike a pose in front of the Super G! The welcome moment allowed guests to center themselves as they entered the space, and provided a personal photo-moment takeaway.

The Linkup Networking Event invited conference attendees to relax after a long day on the convention floor, sip a mocktail and socialize in a fun, laid back environment. We created a cozy retreat to unwind after the conference. The atmosphere was laid-back, with guests networking and occasionally getting out on the dance floor to show their ‘Cupid Shuffle’ dance moves.

Sips, bites, and treats kept the crowd going! We accented venue F&B by partnering with black-owned, The Sweet Lobby, with custom macarons - a little sweet treat takeaway for guests. Custom mocktails with names inspired by Google and the STEM conference - were the perfect refreshment for the young professionals.
